في مستهل زيارة سماحة السيد عمار الحكيم  إلى محافظة السليمانية، التقي رئيس الاتحاد الوطني الكردستاني الأستاذ بافل طالباني، وتداول في تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة والاستحقاقات القادمة، وبارك لأهالي حلبجة تصويت مجلس النواب على اعتبار مدينتهم محافظة عراقية جديدة، وأعرب عن أمله بأن يسهم هذا الإجراء بخدمة هذه المدينة المنكوبة والمضحية.جدد التأكيد على أهمية حفظ ما تحقق من استقرار وتحويله إلى استقرار دائم وراسخ، وحمّل الجميع مسؤولية ذلك من فاعليات سياسية واجتماعية.دعى أيضا لمواصلة الحوار لحل الإشكاليات العالقة بين الحكومة الاتحادية وحكومة الإقليم، وشدد على اعتماد الدستور والتنازل للمصلحة العامة أساسا لهذا الحوار، كما أكد أهمية حفظ حقوق الموظفين والمزارعين في عموم العراق.في الملف الإقليمي، جدد قناعته بصوابية الحوارات بين الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية والولايات المتحدة الأميركية، وقال إن هذه الحوارات ضرورية لاستقرار المنطقة، وأن العراق داعم بشكل كبير لها، كما شدد على استقرار سوريا، ومشاركة جميع مكونات الشعب السوري في صنع قراره.

At the outset of our visit to Sulaymaniyah Governorate, we met with Mr. Bafel Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, where we discussed the evolving political landscape in Iraq and the region, along with the upcoming national dues. We extended our congratulations to the people of Halabja following the Iraqi Parliament’s vote to designate their city as a new governorate, expressing our hope that this recognition will contribute to serving a city that has endured so much and made great sacrifices.We reaffirmed the importance of safeguarding the stability that has been achieved and working collectively to transform it into lasting and sustainable peace. We emphasized that both political and social stakeholders bear responsibility in maintaining and strengthening this stability.We also encouraged the continuation of dialogue aimed at resolving pending issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, stressing that such dialogue must be rooted in the Constitution and driven by the broader national interest. We further highlighted the need to protect the rights of public employees and farmers across Iraq.On regional matters, we reiterated our firm belief in the importance of dialogue between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, describing it as essential to ensuring regional stability—an effort that Iraq strongly supports. We also stressed the need for a stable Syria and for all segments of the Syrian population to be meaningfully included in shaping their country’s future
