نستنكر الحادث الإجرامي الذي تعرض له عدد من إخوتنا الآشوريين في أثناء احتفالهم بعيد رأس السنة البابلية (أكيتو) في محافظة دهوك، جراء هجوم شخص (غير عراقي) متطرف عليهم ما أدى إلى إصابة عدد منهم بجروح. إننا إذ ندين هذا السلوك الشائن نحث الجهات الأمنية على متابعة تفاصيله لضمان عدم تكراره، كما نهيب بإخوتنا وأعزتنا أبناء الديانات والقوميات المتنوعة التمسك أكثر بأرض أجدادهم وآبائهم. تمنياتنا بالشفاء العاجل للجرحى.

We strongly condemn the criminal attack that targeted several of our Assyrian brothers during their celebration of the Babylonian New Year (Akitu) in Duhok province. The assault, carried out by an extremist non-Iraqi individual, resulted in multiple injuries.As we denounce this outrageous act, we call on security authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and take measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. We also urge our brothers and sisters of all faiths and ethnicities to remain committed to their ancestral homeland.We extend our heartfelt wishes for a swift recovery to the injured.
